I had the good fortune to see Dean & Brita and Spectrum perform with the Joshua Light Show at the Abroms Art Center in the Lower East Side on May 15, 2010. I’m not especially familiar with Dean & Brita’s work, but I really loved their sound when I saw them perform. The headline of the night for me was Spectrum, who has been one of my favorite bands for years. Peter Kember, aka Sonic Boom, has been involved with some of the most influential music in my life, first through Spacemen 3 (with Jason Pierce) and then through Spectrum and Experimental Audio Research. I’ve seen Spectrum perform on a number of occasions and I always look forward to their shows.
I wasn’t familiar with the work of the Joshua Light Show, but the visuals they created throughout Dean & Brita’s and Spectrum’s sets were nothing short of extraordinary and I’m glad the pictures I took during the show were able to capture some of the beauty and the brilliance of their images.

Here are embedded YouTube videos of some of the video I shot during the show. These look nice here, but they look even better in HD on the youtube site.
